DETAILS: We have had two very successful events billed as slams in the past – one in 2004, one in 2005. Since then we have had regular performance events at Bob Baker Marionette Theater in conjunction with our Holiday Party - short puppet acts by various artists, both old and new works. The material for that event tends to be more family oriented - we would like to produce an additional event that provides a venue for edgier, adult material. There is a lot of untapped talent in Los Angeles and we want to produce and promote a showcase for that talent. As a curator, I have also been involved with several other evenings of short puppet theater outside of the LAGuild of Puppetry.
